BIOGRAPHY

Kadewere is a 24 year old Creative Professional whose involvement in the Media and Arts Industries spans a career of over seven years. Her work ranges from Writing, Public Relations, Events Consultancy, Organization and Management, Branding, Voice-Over Artistry and Radio/ Television Presentation.

Through her radio persona, ThokoKaytheDJ, she went on to temporarily host other shows on the station namely the Weekend Morning Drive, Traffic Jam and Capital in the Afternoon. Thoko had already started pursuing her writing career and was a regular contributor on Malawi Gist and Nyasa Showbiz. Her writings have appeared on other websites such as Nyasa Times,All Africa, She Leads Africa and Zonse Live.

Thoko was also part of The Creatives quartet who organized WAFE (Winter Ankara Fashion Expo) and worked with them in their first and second events. She went on to work with/for the teams that organized the launch of the inaugural Nyasa Music Awards, Sand Music Festival, UMP Awards and Festival, Creative4Christ and the shows of international artists in Malawi, such as Sinach, Sho Baraka and Da Truth. She was also part of the team responsible for the organization of First Merchant Bank's re-branding to First Capital Bank.

Thoko has also volunteered for projects that help in the spiritual development of the youth such as Qlub Konnekt, Young Life and SALT Conference, which is owned and run by Flood Church where she serves a Creatives Hub and Singles Ministry Leader.

She has since worked for companies such as Eden Estates Boutique Hotel, where she managed events for companies such as Standard Bank, Centre for Disease Control (CDC), FES and Ministry of Tourism – British Council, where she worked with her colleagues in the delivery of the Council’s programs such as the Our Shared Goal (OSG) Festival, Connect Hubs 2.0, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), the Digital Hackathon, Fashion Futures and the Selector Tour – and the Innovation for Foundation Policy, where she aided in the delivery of their #DontGoViral campaign.

Thoko released her first published book and poetry collection titled Gardening In Oblivion on 15 October 2020. She is currently working on another book titled The A-Z of Business with two colleagues. It is geared to be released before the end of this year.
